Ambassador Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Cause on International Quds Day

Islamabad – In a solemn gathering to mark International Quds Day, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirmed his country’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and condemned the continued aggression of the Israeli regime.

The event, attended by distinguished guests and members of the public, commemorated the annual observance initiated by the late Imam Khomeini (RA), who designated the last Friday of Ramadan as Quds Day—a global day of solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.

Addressing the audience, the ambassador highlighted the dual realities since October 7, 2023: the continued genocide against Palestinians, supported by Western powers and the United States, and the growing strength and resilience of the Palestinian resistance, especially Hamas. He noted that the Israeli regime, which once vowed to eliminate Hamas, is now engaged in direct negotiations with the group following ceasefire agreements and prisoner exchanges.

“I take great pride in the principled stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will persist—by the grace of Almighty Allah—until the complete liberation of Al-Quds Al-Sharif,” the ambassador stated.

He also lamented the silence and inaction of some governments in the face of Israeli atrocities but praised the role of media and civil society in awakening global consciousness. “The strong and courageous stance of the Pakistani government and its honorable people has been instrumental in raising awareness. I sincerely thank Pakistan for its steadfast support of the Palestinian cause,” he said.

The ambassador called for unity across the Muslim world and urged all Muslims to raise their voices in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza on this significant day. The event concluded with prayers for the liberation of all oppressed Muslims and the freedom of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
