When I first got the opportunity to teach aspiring lawyers at Allama Iqbal Law College, Azadi Chowk, Sargodha, it felt like stepping into the heart of Pakistan’s legal world. As someone passionate about legal education, I saw it not just as a job, but as an adventure into shaping the minds of future judges, advocates, and legal reformers. What makes this journey even more thrilling is the unique setting of the college, right next to the Session Courts of Sargodha. This proximity transforms everyday academic life into a living, breathing legal experience, where the boundaries between classroom theory and courtroom reality beautifully blur.
From the very first day, I noticed how the location of the college plays an important role in students’ learning. Being so close to the courts means students are not just learning legal theories in books, but they are also getting a chance to see how the legal system actually works. They can walk a short distance and see real cases being discussed, lawyers presenting arguments, and judges giving decisions. This kind of exposure is extremely valuable because it helps students connect what they study in class with what happens in real life.
Many students have told me how helpful it is for them to visit the courts regularly. With the permission of the college administration, students often go to the courts in small groups, sometimes with their teachers. They observe how legal professionals behave, how court proceedings take place, and how laws are applied in real situations. This kind of learning is not possible through books alone. It builds their confidence, gives them professional awareness, and helps them prepare for their future as lawyers, judges, or legal advisors.
I also want to mention how supportive and cooperative the administration of the college is. The management is always willing to help, both the teachers and the students. They understand the importance of giving students practical experience, and they encourage court visits, mock trials, and other legal activities that help students learn better. The staff is respectful, the environment is disciplined, and there is a clear focus on academic excellence. These things create a positive and friendly atmosphere where both teachers and students feel motivated to give their best.
The students at Allama Iqbal Law College are also very talented and eager to learn. They are curious, respectful, and hardworking. Many of them are deeply interested in becoming successful lawyers and want to serve the country through their knowledge of the law. They participate actively in class, ask thoughtful questions, and show a real desire to understand the legal system. I have found them to be polite, serious about their studies, and passionate about their future goals. It is always a joy to teach such students.
In my view, what makes this law college truly special is the balance it maintains between theory and practice. Most law colleges teach from books and hold exams, but they do not offer regular practical exposure. At Allama Iqbal Law College, things are different. Because of its perfect location next to the courts, students naturally get a chance to see the real side of the legal profession. This gives them a strong foundation and prepares them well for the challenges of the legal world.
Legal education should not just be about passing exams. It should prepare students to deal with real issues in society, understand the law deeply, and work for justice. I believe this college is doing exactly that. It is giving students the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to become successful professionals. As a teacher, I feel proud to be part of this institution. And as someone who believes in the power of education, I feel hopeful when I see how this college is shaping the future of legal education in Sargodha.
I would encourage all students who are interested in law to consider institutions that offer not just good academics but also real-life exposure to the field. In this regard, Allama Iqbal Law College at Azadi Chowk is an excellent choice. It is a place where students don’t just study the law—they live it.
