Uzbekistan and Pakistan Unite for a Shared Future Rooted in Strategic Dialogue and Intellectual Cooperation

Islamabad  (NNP) The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, H.E. Alisher Tukhtaev, held a comprehensive and constructive meeting with Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, former Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere marked by mutual respect and strategic trust, highlighting the growing partnership between the two brotherly nations. Discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation, especially in the spheres of analytical dialogue and research collaboration. Both sides emphasized the importance of fostering strong ties between think tanks and policy research institutions in Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

Senator Kakar fondly recalled his interactions with the President of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in Tashkent, New York, and other global forums. He lauded the Uzbek President’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

Expressing keen interest in enhancing intellectual cooperation, Senator Kakar voiced his support for direct dialogue between Uzbekistan’s expert communities and their Pakistani counterparts. He advocated for joint research initiatives that could contribute to a better understanding of regional dynamics and shared development goals.

A major focus of the discussion was the Trans-Afghan Railway Project, which both sides recognized as a transformative initiative for regional connectivity. They noted that successful implementation of this strategic infrastructure project would unlock new geoeconomic pathways and significantly enhance transport and trade links between Central and South Asia.

On the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, Senator Kakar extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan, reaffirming the strong fraternal bond shared between the two countries.
