H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), called on H.E. Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Interior, on Thursday to discuss various areas of bilateral cooperation.
The two sides discussed Ethiopia-Pakistan bilateral relations, including the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines operations from Karachi, which has strengthened Pakistan’s relations not only with Ethiopia but also with Africa.
Prospects for bilateral cooperation for peace and security also came under discussion during the meeting.
The Ambassador congratulated the Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, on assuming the charge of the President of the Asian Cricket Council, and also on hosting of the International Cricket Council Champions Trophy 2025 by Pakistan.
Highlighting the global challenges faced by the globe, such as climate change, terrorism, and piracy, the Ambassador underlined the need for forging bilateral cooperation to achieve the common objectives of peace and prosperity.
He said Ethiopia and Pakistan are working together in multilateral forums to ensure international peace and security, especially under the Blue Helmets of the United Nations.
The Minister agreed on the need for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries to advance the mutual interests of the two nations.
He assured the Ambassador of his full support in further strengthening the bilateral relations by enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
