Islamabad ( Waheed Niazi): Residents of Al-Madinah Estate in Khanna Pul East have accused authorities of misuse of power after they were allegedly implicated in a fabricated case for requesting the restoration of water supply.
According to details, the tube well valve supplying water to the area was shut and plastered over, leaving the residents without water for over a week. When five locals approached officials with a request to restore the water, they were detained, and a fake case was registered against them at Khanna Police Station.
Sources allege that the involvement of a senior police officer in Lahore, identified as a relative of a local figure named Fayyaz, played a significant role in the incident. The officer, holding the post of SP, reportedly used his influence to have the case registered against the residents.
The affected residents have appealed to higher authorities to take action against the individuals involved, particularly Fayyaz and another individual named Mhavayat. The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with calls for an immediate investigation, restoration of water supply, and accountability for the alleged abuse of power.
