ATTOCK (NNP) Police on Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics from KP to Punjab and arrested a smuggler- stated to be member of inter provincial gang of narcotics smugglers. The Police spokesman said that acting on a tip off, a police party intercepted a car and during search 33 kilogram of hashish was recovered from the hidden parts of the vehicle. Police arrested the smuggler identified as Waqar Afridi- a native of Khyber district. During preliminary interrogation, the suspect has revealed that he is member of interprovincial racket of narcotics smuggler and was smuggling the consignment from tribal areas to various cities of Punjab. A case was registered against the suspect under section 9-C of control of narcotics substance act 1997 and launched further investigation.The spokesman has said that the value of the seized narcotics is millions in the international market.
