Islamabad (NNP) Over 6000 victims of Jinnah Garden Islamabad, who have been waiting for their promised plots for 20-30 years, are calling for urgent action from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and other relevant authorities. Many of these individuals are living in rented houses, including retired employees, and have faced significant hardship due to the prolonged delay.
The CDA’s decision to halt duplication without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and qualified Layout Plan (LOP) has disproportionately affected these victims. This has raised concerns, especially considering that hundreds of other housing societies operate without NOCs, yet the victims of Jinnah Garden are singularly deprived of their plots.
The affected individuals demand that the CDA expedite the approval of the LOP for Jinnah Garden and allow conditional extensions. They urge that after the LOP approval, plot allotments should proceed based on merit. Given that Jinnah Garden has already settled thousands of canals, they argue that facilitating a few thousand more plots should be feasible.
To streamline the process, the victims propose that the responsibility for obtaining the NOC be assigned to the Chief Commissioner. They suggest that the society complete the necessary documentation and correspondences, which the Chief Commissioner can then use to coordinate with Civil Aviation and other institutions to secure the NOC.
The prolonged wait has left many victims disheartened and in financial distress. They call for immediate cooperation from the CDA and related bodies to fulfill their long-awaited dream of owning a plot in Jinnah Garden, a promise they have been clinging to for decades.
