Attock ( Razi Khan ) In a move to ensure the provision of quality healthcare, Punjab Health Adviser Major General (Retd) Azhar Kayani conducted an unannounced inspection of the Government Esfandiar Bukhari Hospital. The visit, directed by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aimed to evaluate the hospital’s facilities and address any immediate concerns.
During his tour, Major General (Retd) Azhar Kayani visited various departments including the Emergency Medical OPD, Surgical OPD, Dental OPD, Thalassemia Center, ICU, Urology, and Dialysis Center. He interacted with patients to gather firsthand feedback on the services provided and later held a meeting with the hospital’s medical staff.
In attendance were Dr. Sohail, MS Dr. Sheikh Jawad Elahi, CO Health Asad Ismail, DHO Dr. Syed Kashif Hussain, Deputy DHO Dr. Shahid, and Medical Specialist Dr. Muhammad Riaz. Addressing the doctors, Major General Kayani emphasized the significance of compassionate patient care, noting that good manners can significantly contribute to the healing process.
He assured that the shortage of doctors would be addressed and the hospital’s problems resolved. Highlighting his commitment to public service, he shared his ongoing efforts of running a free medical camp and encouraged the medical staff to establish similar initiatives in their areas.
“This opportunity to serve the people of Punjab was accepted on the condition that I could continue my free clinic. Serving humanity is an honor, and I urge you all to contribute to this noble cause,” said Major General Kayani.
The visit underscored the provincial government’s dedication to improving healthcare services and ensuring that patient welfare remains a top priority.
