KARACHI (NNP) The important meeting held at Central Police Office Karachi under the chairmanship of IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, the law and order situation in the city, action against street crime and street criminals were discussed and necessary instructions were given.
The IG Sindh gave instructions that the concerned officers should go to the houses of the citizens who were killed or injured for resisting robbery and express their condolences and sympathy to their families and I myself will also go to express my regret and condolence.
IG Sindh said that SIU will now arrest the accused in robbery-related murder cases, while 67 best police officers of Karachi have been tasked against the accused involved in the most important cases. He said that the work of the police is the people. We have to serve and protect the people, we have to work as a team to prevent the increasing activities of the criminals along with killings on robbery resistance. Eradicating such crimes is our priority.
He instructed the officers to come in the field and show their best performance against crime. He said that the killings of poor people in the cases of robbery are unbearable.
IG Sindh said that the responsibility of investigation of cases of killing or injury on resistance to robbery should be assigned to expert and talented IOs and all such cases registered in the future should be done in consultation with SP Investigation and Special IOs. will go
He said that the SHOs and IOs will reach the incident in time while the Crime Scene Unit will collect all the evidence keeping in mind its responsibilities.
He said that the lists of Special IOs and Investigation Officers have been provided to the SSPs. He also gave instructions for the establishment of a revolving fund for the investigation department, with the aim of providing funds for investigation costs in the fund. The initial amount available is to keep the balance in place.
He said that special IOs should be provided with modern equipment, computers, etc. During the meeting, he said openly, “Tell me the requirements openly and I will give you full support.”
IG Sindh said that keeping in view the rate of successful completion of cases and actual punishment of the involved accused, SSPs will be given five lakhs while IOs will be given basic salary as a reward. In this context, the performance report of investigation officers S SPs, AIG operations will be sent to Sindh and rewards will be given to IOs only in the light of the report. Solid and comprehensive investigation should be ensured with the accused arrested in the cases of murder on resisting robbery. The IG Sindh emphasized that the officers should find out where the mobiles and motorcycles seized in street crimes are being transferred.
IG Sindh said that the Convocation and Reward Policy will be approved by the Government of Sindh, the purpose of which is to strengthen the performance of the investigation department and to raise the morale of the officers. He said that our job is to serve the people and provide justice. He said that official motorcycles will be allotted to Special IOs. Besides, the task of the successful completion of the most important cases has been given to 67 best officers of Karachi, while the accused in the case of murder on resisting robbery are now under SIU arrest. 60 officers of the police team will belong to the districts while 7 will be from the SIU. Moreover, the case of murder on resisting robbery will automatically be transferred to the SIU.
As soon as the case is transferred, seven best nominated officers will work on the case and arrest the accused while other 60 officers will also work against the accused involved in all these cases. Each investigating officer will work on 10 to 12 cases while Specialist subordinate officers are also being provided for the registration of cases. These steps are aimed at the purpose of when the case is with an officer, it can also be withdrawn from him.
He convinced the police officers that back-and-forth or delaying tactics in registering FIRs of the cylons is intolerable, otherwise the DSPs, SOs and duty officers will be suspended.
Additional IG Karachi told the officers participating in the meeting that I am the head of the provincial task force and I make it clear to you that within a week start action against organized crime, otherwise RRF and CTD will conduct raids.
