The New Zealand cricket team is likely to be without senior and experienced players in the tour of Pakistan.
Sources say that New Zealand’s senior and experienced players will be playing in the IPL during the Pakistan tour, with Kane Williamson, Dion Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Santner being part of the IPL franchises.
Apart from this, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult and Glenn Phillips are also part of the Indian league.
The Indian board has released the schedule of the first 21 matches of the IPL from March 22 to April 7, while the schedule of the second phase of the league will be made after the announcement of the date of the Indian election.
Indian elections are expected to be held in April and May while the IPL final is likely to be played on May 26.
According to sources, the dates of New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan and the Indian league are conflicting. New Zealand is scheduled to visit Pakistan in mid-April for a series of 5 T20 matches, the proposed date of the tour is April 14 to 28.
The first T20 match between New Zealand and Pakistan is proposed on April 18, the series is likely to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
