Rawalpindi. Unhealthy diets are among the major causes of heart, kidney, type 2 diabetes and many other fatal non-communicable diseases. Consumption of these unhealthy foods has increased at an alarming rate in Pakistan . Multi-National companies first spread these unhealthy foods by making us a mental slave and then they sell medicines of these disease. They collect revenue from us and go out with revenue letting our country men die. To save our youth and children who is the future of our country, we need to keep them away from sugary drinks and ultra-processed foods. These foods are often high in sugar, salt and trans-fats. A small tin of sugary drinks contain 7 to 8 teaspoons of sugar. It is the responsibility of parents and teachers to keep children away from these unhealthy foods. We also request government to increase taxes on these unhealthy foods which is an evident based first and most effective policy action to reduce consumption of these products. This was said by General Secretary of Pakistan National Heart Association in an event on Ultra-processed foods and youth of Pakistan at Aysha Lasani Schoo
