National Assembly Speaker Congratulates Newly Elected RIBJA
ISLAMABAD, September 27, 2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of the Rawalpindi Islamabad Bureau Journalists Association (RIBJA) for the 2026-27 term
. In a statement, the Speaker congratulated newly elected President Syed Mujahid Naqvi, Senior Vice President Nusrat Abbas Shah,
General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, Joint Secretary Rizwan Tahir Chohan and other office-bearers.
According to the statement, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said the election of the new RIBJA leadership reflected the confidence of the association’s members in their professional capabilities.
He expressed hope that the newly elected leadership would play an effective role in promoting the welfare of the journalist community, strengthening professional affairs and addressing issues faced by journalists in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The Speaker also highlighted the role of journalism in democratic systems, public awareness and informing society about national and public-interest issues. He said free,
responsible and impartial journalism is important for providing timely information, highlighting public concerns and keeping institutions informed about issues affecting citizens.
He noted that journalists in Rawalpindi and Islamabad perform important professional responsibilities at the national level and contribute to coverage of important national affairs. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq extended his best wishes to the newly elected RIBJA office-bearers for their tenure.
