Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s Book on Akhal-Teke Horses Presented in the Netherlands
A Dutch-language edition of the book “The Horse: A Symbol of Faithfulness and Happiness” by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty and National Leader of the Turkmen people, was presented in the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of a series of international events celebrating the heritage of the Akhal-Teke horse and Turkmen horse-breeding traditions.
The presentation brought together Turkmen scientists, professors, educators and students, along with representatives of international political and public organizations, leading scientific and educational institutions, public figures and prominent horse breeders from around the world.The Dutch edition was unveiled during the international scientific-practical conference “Akhal-Teke Horse: Turkmen Art of Universal Horse Breeding.” The event opened with remarks by Allaberdy Ashirov, President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the presentation included Sapar Palvanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belgium; Marian Weelterwrede, President of the European Akhal-Teke Horse Association; and Pygy Bayramdurdyyew, Rector of the Aba Annayew International Academy of Horse Breeding, among others.The events in Kronenberg feature a wide-ranging programme highlighting the beauty, athleticism and cultural significance of the Akhal-Teke breed. Activities include beauty and dressage competitions featuring horses of different ages, an international scientific-practical conference on Turkmen horsemanship, show-jumping competitions and contests to select the finest Akhal-Teke horse in Europe.
The programme provides an international platform for promoting the centuries-old traditions of Turkmen horse breeding while strengthening cultural and scientific ties between Turkmenistan, the Netherlands and the wider international equestrian community.
