Islamabad (NNP) His Excellency Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, held an engaging and substantive interaction with members of the business community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, focusing on enhancing economic cooperation and trade relations between Romania and Pakistan.During the meeting, Ambassador Stoenescu highlighted Romania’s dynamic economic transformation and its growing attractiveness for international investors.

He noted that Romania is among the European Union’s largest and fastest-converging economies, offering full access to the EU Single Market, competitive production costs, and strong long-term growth potential.Emphasizing Romania’s strategic significance, the Ambassador pointed to its population of nearly 19 million and its unique geographic position at the crossroads of the European Union, the Balkans, the Black Sea, and the Middle East—factors that collectively provide scale, connectivity, and stability for global businesses.Ambassador Stoenescu also underscored the crucial role of European Union recovery and cohesion funds, worth tens of billions of euros, in accelerating Romania’s nationwide development. These funds are driving major progress in infrastructure, digitalization, energy, and industrial sectors, further strengthening the country’s investment environment.The dialogue reflected strong interest from Pakistani entrepreneurs in accessing European markets and exploring new opportunities for collaboration with Romania. Both sides acknowledged the significant potential to expand bilateral trade and investment, expressing a shared resolve to transform discussions into tangible economic initiatives.Reaffirming Romania’s commitment to global partnerships, Ambassador Stoenescu concluded by emphasizing that Romania remains open and ready to build long-term business relationships and foster mutually beneficial economic cooperation with Pakistan.
