Mardan: Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Teaching Hospital Mardan, Dr. Javed Iqbal, has said that DHQ Teaching Hospital Mardan, in collaboration with Indus Hospital & Health Network, has established a modern “Yellow Room” for Infection Prevention and Control. The purpose of this project is to ensure the safe, standardized, and scientifically sound disposal of contaminated and infected waste generated in healthcare facilities.
He stated that under the Indus Hospital & Health Network, only 16 hospitals across the country have been selected for this initiative, and DHQ Teaching Hospital Mardan is among them, representing a matter of pride and trust for the institution.
In the Yellow Room, infected waste not only from DHQ Hospital but also from various healthcare centers across District Mardan is collected and later incinerated using advanced methods to protect both the environment and patients from pollution.
Dr. Javed Iqbal expressed these views during a detailed visit to different departments of DHQ Hospital. He was accompanied by the President of Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (Registered) Pakistan Division Mardan and District Headquarters Hospital Mardan, Ubaidullah, along with General Secretary Haji Muhammad Ameen.
MS Dr. Javed Iqbal inspected various units including the casualty department, cleanliness arrangements, and facilities being provided to emergency patients. Appreciating the performance of the hospital staff, he said that providing improved and quality treatment to patients is the top priority, and the new initiatives will play an important role in achieving this objective.
