SP Transfers Constable After Public Outcry; DPO Attock Removes SHO Hazro, Public Welcomes Decision

ATTOCK (NNP) District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mawarhan Khan, has removed Station House Officer (SHO) Hazro, Sajjad Haider, and directed him to report to police lines following a series of public complaints and his poor performance. Sources revealed that Police Station Hazro had recently witnessed a rise in robberies and other criminal activities.

These issues were consistently highlighted by senior journalist Nisar Ali Khan through the popular digital platform Chhachh News Network. According to reports, SHO Sajjad Haider allegedly responded by issuing direct threats to the journalist on multiple occasions.

In another related incident, local journalist Muhammad Hafeez Mir was arrested in two allegedly fabricated cases over factual reporting and was reportedly subjected to mistreatment during custody.

Taking serious notice of the deteriorating law and order situation and growing public grievances, DPO Attock Sardar Mawarhan Khan removed SHO Sajjad Haider and appointed Malik Amjad Ali, an experienced and proactive police officer, as the new SHO of Police Station Hazro.

The DPO’s decision has been widely welcomed by residents, civil society, and social media users, who termed it a necessary step toward improving policing standards in the area.

Meanwhile, citizens have also expressed special appreciation to the Regional Officer, Special Branch Rawalpindi, SSP Zonaira Afsar, for taking action and transferring the controversial Special Branch constable who was facing serious allegations from overseas Pakistanis, political workers, and local business circles. The complaints included filing baseless reports, favouring select political and overseas groups, and allegedly influencing senior officers through unethical practices.
