President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, Senior Vice President Huzaifa Ansar, and Executive Member Chaudhry Nasir of the Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets and Bakers Association Rawalpindi Punjab (Registered) present at the Sui Gas hearing.
Upon returning from the hearing, President Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry informed the esteemed members that during the hearing held at the Lahore Sui Gas Head Office against the unjust increase in gas prices, the stance of the commercial sector was presented. The concerns and difficulties faced by traders associated with the restaurant, catering, bakery, and sweets businesses were highlighted.
Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry stated that while representing the commercial sector, the Association took the position that the recent increase in gas tariffs has become an unbearable burden for traders, negatively affecting employment opportunities and severely pressuring business activities.
He further demanded that the Chairman of the Sui Gas Board and the Federal Minister for Petroleum, keeping in view the challenges faced by the commercial sector, should not raise gas prices any further and instead immediately reduce the gas tariff for the commercial sector so that small and medium-sized businesses can sustain themselves.
He added that traders across Pakistan, particularly those linked to the food industry, expect the government to resolve their issues on a priority basis, so that this vital sector of the national economy can be supported.
