Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority Recovers 500 Unfit Eggs from Bakery

Mardan: A team from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority, Mardan, recovered 500 unfit eggs during a raid at a bakery production unit located in the suburban area of Gali Bagh. The spoiled eggs were being used in bakery items. The bakery was heavily fined for preparing substandard and unhygienic food, and the contaminated eggs were destroyed. A heavy fine was also imposed on the owners for violating food safety regulations and for employing workers without medical certificates.

Meanwhile, a shop in the Baghdadah Bazaar was fined due to poor hygiene conditions. Licenses were issued to new food businesses, along with strict instructions for improvement.

On this occasion, Assistant Director Mardan, Ruqia Nawaz, stated that shopkeepers dealing with food items must focus on cleanliness and implement food safety procedures in their businesses, otherwise strict legal action will be taken. She added that further action will be carried out in accordance with the law against those violating regulations and endangering public health.
