I’m willing to risk my entire business in search of truth and justice: Huda Kattan

As death tolls in Gaza climb to 18,787, with a staggering 50,897 injured, opposition against pro-Palestine advocates continues to mount with many claiming instances of facing active censorship and death threats. The highly charged atmosphere has turned all eyes to influential names across various industries, awaiting their stance on Israel’s occupation.

Huda Kattan, the 40-year-old founder of the renowned makeup empire Huda Beauty, has made it clear that her support lies with the countless Palestinians suffering under Israel’s occupying regime and will not be deterred by critics. Reiterating solidarity, Huda took to TikTok on December 11 with a video message underlining the pressures to sway her beliefs.

“I have been experiencing so much intimidation from so many different ways trying to get me to be silent. And I have to ask myself, why do they want me to be silent? I’m talking about innocent people being hurt,” the celebrity addressed her audience. “I am not anti-Semitic. I am not anti any people. I never will be. I stand against that.”

Huda furthered on, “I feel the Israeli government is really putting the Jewish people, if they really do care about them, they’re putting the Jewish people in harm’s way.” The make-up celeb emphasised Israel’s use of people as “human shields” and called the government out for misattributing its actions to Palestinians.

“I’ve always believed that the Israeli government uses their religion and their people as human shields. I’ve always believed that they deflect and project everything that they do onto the Palestinian people,” Huda declared. “I don’t think they realize that there is a revolution that has already started. The amount of people that know now, the amount of people who are educating each other now, the revolution has started. Nothing will undo this.”

Detailing her experience of encountering regular threats and opposition, Huda underscored the importance of hope while advocating for an end to oppression. “And I am getting a lot of intimidation. I have been getting threats, a lot of threats on my business every which way. And I don’t know where things are gonna go. But we have to remember, we cannot be afraid to lose anything.”

Asking Palestine supporters to “trust the process”, Huda maintained that she was willing to risk her business with a complete belief that truth yields the ultimate victory. “We have to trust if we lose something, something else will come to us the right way because we are doing good work…I believe that wholeheartedly and I’m willing to risk my entire business, everything that I have in search of truth and justice.”

“You’re trying to intimidate me. Let me tell you, you’re coming to the wrong person. I will not be intimidated. Let me tell you right now, I’ve done nothing wrong. I’m speaking on behalf of humanity. I will not be intimidated,” the beauty guru capped her long message.
